The NGSP web site contains extensive information about the program initiated in 1996 to standardize glycated hemoglobin (GHb) / A1C testing, including how to obtain certification and lists of currently certified methods and laboratories. The site also has extensive information about GHb testing including potential assay interferences, an explanation of the relationship between GHb and mean blood glucose, and ongoing international standardization efforts.

National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP)
The NDEP is a federally sponsored initiative that involves public and private partners to improve the treatment and outcomes for people with diabetes, to promote early diagnosis, and ultimately to prevent the onset of diabetes. The NDEP is sponsored jointly by the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
